Abbey Shaw, Laura Gippert & Kevin Shaw
Rooted in aloha. Built on resilience. Inspired by community.
Laura Gippert grew up on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, graduated from high school there, and though life later took her to Michigan and then Colorado, her ties to the island remained strong. With her mother and many friends still living there, Hawaiʻi has always been home to her heart. Kevin Shaw, in his early twenties, also lived on the Big Island, where he developed a deep love for the people, the culture, and the Hawaiian way of life.
Years later, when the devastating wildfires swept through Lahaina, both Laura and Kevin felt the same pull: to help. The logistics of directly assisting the people of Lahaina proved impossible from afar, but their shared commitment found another outlet. Together, they organized a fundraiser—one that not only raised support but also lit the spark that would become Aloha Contents.
Their mission was further shaped by the wildfires closer to home in Colorado. The High Park Fire and the Marshall Fire left scars across Northern Colorado, devastating families and communities. Seeing loss on both islands and in their own backyard deepened Laura and Kevin’s resolve: they knew they were called to help people protect what matters most in times of disaster and transition.
What began as a fundraiser turned into a calling. Laura brought with her 25 years as a Northern Colorado realtor, guiding families through the emotional process of buying and selling homes. Kevin contributed not only 40 years as a collector—someone who knows that the items we carry aren’t just “stuff” but memories, stories, and legacies—but also his background as a merchant mariner. Life at sea taught him the art of efficiency and precision: every item must be carefully packed, protected, and safely stowed. That discipline now shapes the way Aloha Contents cares for each customer’s property.
And because aloha is never complete without ʻOhana (family), Laura and Kevin were proud to welcome Kevin’s daughter, Abbey, as Aloha Contents’ Business Development Manager. Though Abbey didn’t grow up in Hawaiʻi, she may embody the aloha spirit more than anyone they know—spreading warmth, connection, and care in every relationship she builds.
Together, the team built Aloha Contents on the Hawaiian values that guide them:
Mālama – to protect. We safeguard belongings as if they were our own, honoring their stories and sentimental weight.
Kōkua – to help. We show up for families and businesses during their most stressful moments, lending hands and hearts.
Kuleana – responsibility. We embrace the trust placed in us, knowing that caring for someone’s personal property is both a duty and a privilege.
ʻOhana – family. We treat every client like extended family, because in times of crisis, no one should feel alone.
